About Coach

I have been active my entire life. My parents put me in sports for as long as I could remember. From cheerleading to soccer to softball to horseback riding to volleyball to ice hockey; my parents wanted to make sure I was always doing something, and a part of a sport. I played ice hockey for the majority of my school years. It was very tough at first to learn. I spent many hours outside of my normal practice times doing private skating lessons so that I could become a better hockey player. It was a lot of early, early mornings and determination to get better. I moved to Rock Springs in 2013 from Phoenix, Arizona. I continued to play hockey here, but it was just a different pace than what I had been used to. I needed something with more intensity and consistency. And that’s when I found CrossFit. The last 5 years have flown by since I started here at Iron Cowboy, and I have grown more and learned even more about myself in that dark space.

Turning Point

The turning point for me in my life was when I did not like who I saw in the mirror. For my entire life I had been active, then after high school… nothing. I didn’t work out at all. I barely even did any physical activity. Being in sports my entire life, this was a shock to the system. I was really unhappy not just with myself, but with everything and everyone around me. My attitude was absolute garbage 24/7. The stress of life really took hold and I had to find a way out. I started coming to the gym in December of 2016, but it wasn’t until a year later that I actually felt comfortable in my skin. I had to put in a lot of work and grit to where I am today. I made a bunch of lifestyle changes from actually making time for the gym, and changing up my nutrition habits. Trust me, it wasn’t easy, and it didn’t all happen at once. This has been a 5 year battle with new goals each year. Life is going to throw challenge after challenge at you, but if you stay dedicated and committed to your goals, you will get to where you want to be.

Motivation & Passion

I teach yoga and coach CrossFit because I want to help others feel as empowered as I do when I get a new PR on a lift. I have never been the fastest, smartest, or strongest, but I’ll be damned if I don’t try. I want help others build that confidence while reaching their health and fitness goals.
